I am writing to let you know about a fantastic visiting drama company that ran two sessions here at Wellow at the beginning of this term. They use drama as a basis to enthuse and improve written work and they will tailor their presentation and activities to suit the needs and topics of whatever you are studying with the children present.

I saw a particularly dramatic improvement in the work of the pupils who normally find it very hard to come up with many creative ideas because the group work they had to do was so focussed and structured that they were planning dialogue and description without realizing it as they went along.

The children were hugely entertained and the visit left me with much sharper ideas about how to use drama more effectively within my lessons. I have seen the benefits in work I have set since, so I suppose it worked as a staff training tool too! I will be inviting the company back again and I would certainly recommend them to you. I have included one of their leaflets.
